Job Title: Website Designer - George.com
Location: George, Lutterworth, Leicestershire, LE17 4XH
Description:
George is currently one of the top clothing retailers in the UK. We have changed the face of clothing retailing since our launch in 1990. Over the past 12 months our George.Com business has achieved fantastic results, we have plans to deliver even greater results in 2010 and beyond. In order to support our growth we are investing in this new position within the team.

Purpose:
•To design and develop website pages, banner creatives and emails for the George.com website.
•Help to deliver the re-design of the George.com website.
•To deliver strong creative design and functionality which meets the needs of the target customer and drives conversion.
Responsibilities: •Designing and developing website pages and banner creatives e.g. homepage, promotional pages, product landing pages for the George.com website. Including:
- Delivering strong design concepts from initial brief and working with promotions team to agree final sign off.
- Writing the code/building website page
- Testing page/banner functionality including in different browsers and at different resolutions
- Putting website pages/banners live on website platform at appropriate time
•Designing and developing George emails including:
- Creating new email templates which have different styles dependant on the email segment or email message type (e.g. sale message vs. editorial)
- Designing George emails (approx 2 per week) with appropriate look and feel for email segment
•Work with external agencies to deliver the re-design of the George.com website and re-branding of George online.
•Build George.com brand guidelines to ensure consistency of creative on the website and in emails.
•Ensure that all activity links through to correct landing pages and is appropriately tagged
•Work with ecommerce team to understand sales performance and conversion of designs and use this to shape future creative.
Requirements and Qualifications: •Relevant work experience in web design
•Proficient in HTML, XHTML Compliant Code, CSS, Javascript/Jquery, Photoshop/Fireworks/ Illustrator and Flash
